ETI applies to workers aged 18–29, earning between R2,000 and R6,500/month, who are not domestic workers and are employed at a qualifying employer. The incentive runs for up to 24 months per worker.

How the ETI works

1

Hire a qualifying youth

Aged 18–29, earning between R2,000 and R6,500/month, SA citizen or permanent resident.

2

Claim via PAYE

The incentive is claimed as a reduction against your monthly PAYE submission to SARS — no separate registration needed.

3

Receive the rebate

SARS reduces your PAYE liability by the incentive amount. First 12 months = up to R1,500/mo. Months 13–24 = up to R750/mo.
